Financial Aid Application Does Not Have to Be Difficult

ALL students considering going to college should complete the FAFSA. February is the prime month to complete the application to be eligible for the most funds. On Thursday, February 5, 2015 we will have a Financial Aid Night for you to complete your student’s FAFSA. We will meet at the High School Computer Lab starting at 6:00p.m. with help available until 8:00 pm to assist you with this sometimes intimidating process. You will work at a school computer with Financial Aid experts there to guide the way. No appointment needed but feel free to come any time between 6 and 8.
It is important that if you plan to attend that you take a minute now to apply for your PIN. This will be used at the workshop and you need to give your student a little time to get this PIN number. You request a PIN by going to PIN.ed.gov. Much of the IRS data needed on the FAFSA can be transferred directly to the application so you do not have to bring your most recently filed taxes, however you may bring them to help the experts answer your questions.
So no matter your income level, students can complete the FAFSA and may get free grant money or at the very least your student could get a job on their campus as a work study employee--BUT only if you complete the FAFSA! Please contact my office if you have any questions or concerns.
